At PE Direct, we believe in the transformative power of education. We’re not just providing jobs; we’re shaping futures. As the specialist recruiters in PE and ALN we want to empower the next generation of educators with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Recently, our Managing Director, Rob Williams, had the pleasure of meeting with the current cohort of PGCE Secondary PE students at Cardiff Metropolitan University. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones.
Programme leader for the PGCE Secondary PE, Fiona Heath-Duffy, shared her insights into Cardiff Metropolitan University’s close relationship with PE Direct.
“The students who have worked for PE direct as undergraduates often do very well at interview as they are able to draw on their experience and the different responsibilities they have had. These often related to covering lessons as a cover supervisor or working 1:1 with additional learning needs pupils, all of which are invaluable. It is clear that PE direct offer more than just work, as students are able to reference the additional training they received with regards to positive behaviour management, where they are taught how to de-escalate challenging situations, taking a trauma informed approach.”
As we continue to collaborate closely with universities like Cardiff Metropolitan, we remain committed to empowering aspiring teachers and educators not just with employment opportunities, but with the essential skills and support they need to make a lasting impact in the lives of their students, schools, and communities. Together, we can shape a brighter future for education.
