A round of applause is in order as we celebrate the success of our new teaching assistants! Congratulations to all those who took part in the Teaching Assistant induction course run on 24th September 2024 by none other than Rob Williams, our Managing Director. We are thrilled to have you all on board and excited for the positive impact you’ll bring to the pupils you will be supporting!

Under the leadership of Rob Williams, the session offered an in-depth look into behaviour management, arming our newest TAs with essential strategies for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. From addressing the unique needs of ALN students to building positive relationships, the training covered it all.

Rob was particularly impressed with the group’s enthusiasm, stating, “It was fantastic to see how committed and open-minded everyone was throughout the training. The discussions were lively, and it’s clear that this cohort is ready to make a real difference in students’ lives.”

All candidates that attended were equally enthusiastic about the training experience:

Oasis shared, “Behaviour Management training was very useful. It was nice to talk through all the ways in which we can manage the behaviour of the pupils as a one to one for ALN and mainstream lessons. It was also nice that we all got to share ideas and experiences about what to do in certain scenarios that may arise. As well as knowing more about my specific role as a TA.”

Charlie appreciated the interactive approach, saying, “Thought the course was really well presented and laid out very clearly with lots of opportunities for questions and conversation.”

Dominic remarked, “I found it very useful to get an understanding of various scenarios that may occur and how to deal with them from the moment you start. From building relationships and being confident with the child to help support them.”

Porche added, “It was great. Much more confident in working in this role after the training.”

Kaisha loved the collaborative aspect, noting, “It was really engaging, I felt like I learnt a lot which could help me throughout the job.”

Jordan found it enlightening, saying, “Training was really great! It was nice to get together with other TAs to discuss certain challenges we encounter in the classroom everyday. The training overall was very informative and useful – I’ve definitely taken something away to apply while working.”

Joshua concluded, “It was insightful and helpful. It was great to attend the training session and learn a lot about being a teaching assistant. Some great advice on how to approach the unknown and I found it really valuable and informative.”

As our new TAs step into their roles, equipped with practical tools and a deeper understanding of behaviour management, we are confident that they’ll contribute immensely to the success of every pupil they support. Welcome to the team! Here’s to an exciting journey ahead!
