At the heart of everything we do is the belief that every pupil deserves a champion—someone who believes in them, understands the power of connection, and supports them to be the best they can possibly be. That is why we are thrilled to announce that we are now offering weekly Positive Behaviour Management Training!
This new initiative with our training is designed to equip our talented new Teaching Assistants (TAs) and PE Cover Supervisors with the vital strategies they need to foster a supportive, engaging, and well-structured learning environment for every pupil they support.
Our personalised training covers vital skills:
- Supporting ALN (Additional Learning Needs) Students: The best approaches to meet the unique needs of ALN students, to ensure they receive the personalised support they deserve.
- Building Positive Relationships: Focused on fostering strong, trusting relationships between TAs, students, and teachers, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere for everyone.
- Safe Practices in PE: Safe practices in PE and strategies for managing behaviour in PE settings to empower staff to create safe, positive, and enjoyable activities for all pupils.
As specialists in ALN and PE, we pride ourselves on offering training that enhances both the skills and confidence of our staff, ensuring that the support each pupil receives is as supportive and effective as possible. Offering weekly training means we can offer personalised support to our staff that relates to the role they are going into.
A Word from Our Managing Director, Rob Williams:
We have decided to run our Positive Behaviour Management training sessions weekly to ensure our team gets consistent, ongoing support. Last week, Kayleigh and Caian truly stood out with their incredible engagement and enthusiasm during the session.
Kayleigh brought a wealth of experience from her previous roles as a care worker, where she worked with individuals facing a range of additional learning needs and challenging behaviours. After starting her new role as a teaching assistant at St Martins last Friday, I can honestly say that they are lucky to have her on board—her experience is already making a tremendous impact.
It was fantastic to get some feedback from Caian, who comes from a sports coaching background. He shared, ‘Thank you for the training course today! I learned lots of useful information that I can apply both to my new role as a TA with PE Direct and my coaching outside of work.’
Seeing the positive impact of the training on both Kayleigh and Caian shows how valuable these sessions are—not just for the staff but for the students they are supporting. We are proud of the difference they are already making in school, and we are excited to continue investing in their professional growth.
With this new training program, we are not only helping to shape exceptional TAs and PE supervisors but also building a positive impact on the overall learning experience for every pupil our staff support.
