We are excited to announce yet another part-time to full-time achievement for two of our outstanding candidates at PE Direct. Lucy and Joseph have secured full-time positions as PE and general cover supervisors at St Martins Comprehensive School until the end of the academic year.
Meet Lucy and Joseph:
Lucy Tomlinson, a 3rd-year student at Cardiff Metropolitan University studying for a BSc in Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation, and Massage, began her journey with PE Direct in February 2022. Lucy is an integral part of the PE Direct team and has been working part-time around her studies. The outstanding feedback we always receive from schools highlights her consistent dedication and exceptional performance. As Lucy nears the end of her studies, she is now working full-time and brings outstanding expertise and enthusiasm to St Martins Comprehensive.
Sharing more about her current role, Lucy said, “As a cover supervisor, I primarily run PE classes in the absence of the regular teacher, working with students to enhance their physical development and teamwork skills. I manage diverse groups of children, ensuring that each student is engaged, safe, and encouraged to participate. By creating an inclusive environment, I help students build confidence, develop their athletic abilities, and enjoy a positive school experience.”
Joseph Thomas, a 1st-year student also from Cardiff Metropolitan University, is pursuing a BSc in Sport, PE, and Health. Joe joined our team more recently, in January 2024, eager to gain practical experience in his field. His commitment and enthusiasm have been evident from the start. With the completion of his first year, Joe is now available full-time and is excited to make a positive impact at St Martins.
Commenting on how easy the transition has been, Joseph said, “Switching from a part-time role to full-time has been seamless and easy and is perfect for me straight after my studies. I’ve been working at St Martins, which is a local school close to home and is ideal for me as I’m building my experience and getting paid also.”
