We can offer you quality work placements that will give you a broad range of experience and help get your career off to a positive start.
We always need staff for the following roles:
PE Teacher
To work as a PE supply teacher, in high School, you’ll need to be have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
PE Cover Supervisor
You can work as a PE cover supervisor in High School if you’re a sports graduate or a qualified sports coach (level 2 or working towards this) with relevant experience of paid coaching, TA or cover supervisor work..
General Cover Supervisor
You can work as a General Cover Supervisor if you’re a graduate or have experience of working with groups of children. This experience can be paid or voluntary.
Teaching Assistant / 1:1 support / Learning Support Assistants
You can work as a TA/LSA if you are a graduate or have experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis, especially with a SEN/ALN background
BESD
For BESD support roles, we are looking for sports graduates, social workers, youth workers,and psychologists who have experience in behaviour management and working with children with special educational needs.

We can offer you both short and long-term placements, and flexible hours. So you can choose how many days you want to work, from one day a week up to full time.
We’ll carefully match your qualifications and experience to the opportunities we have available. We’ll also help you get the experience you’d like. So you can specialise and use your skills doing what you love. Or you can get a wide breadth of experience to help you decide which direction you’d like your career to go in.
We pay professional rates of pay which reflect your qualifications and expertise. Your pay will also include holiday pay to cover the school holidays.
We administer our payroll ourselves. This means we don’t have to pay an outside company and you receive 100% of all you earn.
And because we work to the Agency Workers Regulations and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s guidelines, you can be sure we’ll always treat you fairly.
Training and Continuing Professional Development
We’ll support you throughout your time with PE Direct. For example, we’ll provide you with professional supervision, a range of training and advice and guidance on how you can develop your career.
Before you can start work in a school you’ll need to complete our in-house induction and the following training:
- Safe practice in PE
- Good practice in PE
- Behaviour and classroom management
- Child protection
To keep your knowledge and skills up to date, you’ll need to repeat this training every year.
We also provide optional training on subjects such as lesson planning and how to write a CV.
WORKING WITH PE DIRECT

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
We are well known by schools across south Wales for the quality of both our service and our staff. We expect you, at all times, to uphold our positive reputation and maintain the highest standards of professional practice.
We also expect you to join the DBS update service. This is an online subscription that allows employers to check your certificate online. It’s also the easiest way for you to keep your certificate up to date. If you’re not already on the update service, we can help you to register.
