Job – Teaching Assistant – Cardiff
Full time – Start date January 2022
£11.21 per hour
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full time job to start in January 2022. This job will be supporting pupils with behaviour difficulties within a mainstream Secondary School.
As a behaviour support Teaching Assistant, you will be working alongside a group of Teaching Assistant, to support a group of pupils with learning difficulties within the mainstream classroom. You will be responsible for supporting the pupils to remain focused and engaged in completing learning tasks/activities. You will work to assist the pupils in working to routine and structure.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting the delivery of the National Curriculum to a high standard. You will be responsible for supporting the pupils to develop a proactive attitude to learning, encouraging them to believe in their own potential, assisting them to build their confidence and self-esteem. You will support the pupils holistically, ensuring that they are developing in all aspects, socially and emotionally, as well as academically. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills, to develop an understanding of the pupils individually, as a means of capturing their interest, tailoring your support methods so as to ensure that the pupils feel confident in learning and that tasks are relevant to them.
In order to apply for this role, you will need;
- Relevant and proven experience of working with pupils within a similar environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships
- To be approachable so as to ensure that the pupil feels that they can ask you for support where needed
- Good organisational skills
- A genuine desire to support and enhance the pupils educational experience.
